Abstract
The nasolabial cyst is a very rare non-odontogenic cyst in the maxillofacial area. Embryologically, the cyst is originated from either epithelial remnants entrapped along the lines of fusion during the development of the face or from the remnants
of
developing nasolacrimal ducts. Histologically, it is the true cyst lined with respiratory epithelium in many cases.
The nasolabial cyst is frequency confused with other fissural or odontogenic cysts but the facial deformity of the nasolabial cyst is virtually pathognomic.
The submucosal position in the anterior nasal floor is characteristic and constant. It often elevates and medially displaces the inferior turbinate.
We present the two cases of the nasolabial cyst excised via sublabial approach with literature reviews. (Korean J Otolaryngol 38:5, 1995)
